AB-LEGAL-001 — Alta Bank Deposit Account Agreement
1. Overview
This Deposit Account Agreement (“Agreement”) governs personal deposit accounts offered by Alta Bank.
By opening, maintaining, accessing, or using an Alta Bank account, the account holder agrees to this Agreement, the Alta Group Terms of Service, the Alta Group Privacy Policy, any applicable fee schedule, and any other rules or disclosures provided by Alta Bank.
Alta Bank may update this Agreement at any time.
2. Roleplay and Virtual Economy Notice
Alta Bank is designed for use within Minecraft, Discord, roleplay communities, virtual economies, and related online environments.
Unless Alta Bank clearly states otherwise in writing:
- Alta Bank is not a real-world bank;
- Alta Bank does not hold real-world deposits;
- Alta Bank accounts are not real-world bank accounts;
- balances may represent in-game, fictional, simulated, or roleplay value only;
- account activity may depend on the rules of the relevant Minecraft server, Discord server, or roleplay community;
- Alta Bank services do not create real-world banking, investment, or legal rights.
Users are responsible for understanding that Alta Bank is a roleplay and virtual economy service unless expressly stated otherwise.
3. Eligibility
Alta Bank may allow individuals to open personal deposit accounts if they meet Alta Bank’s requirements.
Alta Bank may require a user to:
- create an Alta account;
- connect a Discord account;
- provide a username or identifier;
- provide accurate account information;
- complete verification steps;
- complete required platform onboarding and Minecraft verification;
- agree to this Agreement;
- accept any current product-specific disclosures required for the requested action;
- follow Alta Bank and Alta Group rules.
Alta Bank may approve, deny, suspend, or close an account at its discretion.
4. Account Ownership
The person approved by Alta Bank as the account holder owns the account within the Alta Bank system.
Account ownership does not create ownership in Alta Bank, Alta Group, or any Alta subsidiary.
An account holder may not sell, transfer, assign, or give control of an account to another person without Alta Bank approval.
Alta Bank may rely on its records to determine who owns or controls an account.
5. Account Access and Security
The account holder is responsible for protecting access to their Alta Bank account, Discord account, Minecraft account, email, device, and login credentials.
The account holder agrees not to:
- share login credentials;
- allow unauthorized users to access the account;
- impersonate another user;
- use another person’s account;
- bypass security controls;
- exploit bugs or technical errors;
- submit false information;
- attempt unauthorized access to Alta systems.
Alta Bank is not responsible for losses caused by the account holder’s failure to protect account access.
6. Deposits
Alta Bank may allow deposits through approved methods.
Deposit methods may include:
- manual deposit requests;
- proof uploads;
- staff-reviewed deposits;
- internal transfers;
- merchant payments;
- interbank transfers;
- other methods approved by Alta Bank.
Alta Bank may accept, reject, delay, review, reverse, or adjust a deposit if necessary to address fraud, mistakes, duplicate submissions, insufficient proof, abuse, technical errors, platform issues, or rule violations.
Deposits are not final until accepted and recorded by Alta Bank.
7. Withdrawals
Alta Bank may allow withdrawals through approved methods.
Alta Bank may require withdrawal review, proof, staff approval, account checks, balance checks, or other procedures before completing a withdrawal.
Alta Bank may delay, deny, hold, cancel, reverse, or investigate a withdrawal if necessary to address:
- insufficient funds;
- suspected fraud;
- account restrictions;
- suspicious activity;
- duplicate requests;
- incorrect information;
- technical errors;
- platform issues;
- disputes;
- rule violations;
- compliance or risk concerns.
Withdrawals are not final until completed and recorded by Alta Bank.
8. Transfers
Alta Bank may allow transfers between Alta Bank accounts or through approved payment systems.
The account holder is responsible for entering correct recipient information, amounts, descriptions, and payment instructions.
Alta Bank may delay, reject, reverse, review, or cancel transfers when necessary to protect users, prevent abuse, correct errors, enforce limits, resolve disputes, or protect platform integrity.
A completed transfer may not be reversible unless Alta Bank determines that reversal is appropriate.
Alta Bank may also allow a customer to transfer virtual Florins between an eligible Alta Bank account and an eligible Alta Terminal portfolio. Such a transfer moves value between Alta's Bank ledger and the selected Terminal portfolio cash ledger. It is not itself a securities order and does not by itself deposit value with, or withdraw value from, an external execution provider. The customer must review the direction, Bank account, Terminal portfolio, and amount before confirming.
Bank-to-Terminal and Terminal-to-Bank funding may be held, rejected, failed, corrected, or reversed if either ledger cannot be updated consistently, an account or portfolio is restricted, funds are insufficient, authorization is invalid, or reconciliation identifies a mismatch. Additional terms are provided in the Alta Bank Transfers and Error Resolution Terms and applicable Alta Terminal documents.
9. Balances and Available Funds
Alta Bank records account balances within its system.
A displayed balance may include pending, held, restricted, or unavailable funds depending on the account status and transaction activity.
Alta Bank may place holds or restrictions on funds for risk review, disputes, suspected fraud, pending withdrawals, merchant issues, technical errors, or other operational concerns.
Alta Bank’s records are the official records of the account unless Alta Bank determines that a correction is required.
10. Errors and Corrections
If Alta Bank identifies an error, duplicate entry, incorrect balance, improper credit, improper debit, failed transaction, or system issue, Alta Bank may correct the account.
Corrections may include:
- adding funds;
- removing funds;
- reversing a transaction;
- adjusting a balance;
- cancelling a transaction;
- placing a hold;
- updating account history;
- correcting account records.
The account holder should report suspected errors through official Alta Bank support channels as soon as possible.
11. Holds, Freezes, and Restrictions
Alta Bank may hold, freeze, restrict, suspend, or limit an account or transaction when necessary to protect Alta Bank, Alta Group, users, merchants, other account holders, or platform integrity.
Reasons may include:
- suspected fraud;
- suspicious activity;
- account takeover concerns;
- unauthorized access;
- disputes;
- chargeback-like issues;
- unpaid obligations;
- rule violations;
- investigation;
- platform abuse;
- market manipulation;
- system errors;
- legal or policy concerns;
- risk to Alta Bank or Alta Group.
Alta Bank may act immediately and without prior notice if needed.
12. Account Closure
The account holder may request account closure through official support channels.
Alta Bank may close an account at any time for:
- rule violations;
- fraud or suspected fraud;
- abuse;
- inactivity;
- security concerns;
- false information;
- unpaid obligations;
- excessive disputes;
- platform risk;
- business reasons;
- violation of this Agreement or Alta Group rules.
Closing an account does not cancel obligations that existed before closure.
Alta Bank may retain records after account closure for audit, dispute, security, financial, or enforcement purposes.
13. Fees
Alta Bank may charge fees for certain account services, transactions, reviews, products, or account activity.
Fees may be listed in a fee schedule, product page, agreement, disclosure, or account notice.
Alta Bank may deduct applicable fees from an account balance where allowed by its rules.
Alta Bank may update fees at any time unless a specific agreement states otherwise.
14. Statements and Records
Alta Bank may provide account history, transaction records, statements, confirmations, receipts, or notifications through the website, dashboard, Discord, email, or other approved channels.
The account holder is responsible for reviewing account activity and reporting errors or unauthorized activity promptly.
Alta Bank may rely on its records, logs, screenshots, proof submissions, transaction history, and staff review when resolving account issues.
15. Notifications
Alta Bank may send account notifications through:
- website alerts;
- dashboard messages;
- Discord direct messages;
- Discord channels;
- email, if provided;
- support tickets;
- other approved methods.
Notifications may include:
- deposits;
- withdrawals;
- transfers;
- payment activity;
- account restrictions;
- security alerts;
- support messages;
- dispute updates;
- policy updates;
- service announcements.
Some notifications may be required for account security or service operation and may not be fully disabled.
16. Prohibited Activity
The account holder may not use an Alta Bank account to:
- commit fraud;
- exploit bugs;
- launder or hide funds;
- evade restrictions;
- manipulate balances;
- submit false proof;
- abuse deposits or withdrawals;
- impersonate another user;
- use unauthorized accounts;
- assist scams;
- abuse merchants;
- harass staff or users;
- interfere with Alta systems;
- violate Minecraft server rules, Discord rules, Alta rules, or applicable law;
- conduct activity that Alta Bank considers unsafe, abusive, misleading, or harmful.
Alta Bank may investigate and restrict accounts involved in prohibited activity.
17. Disputes
The account holder may submit disputes through official Alta Bank support channels.
Disputes may involve:
- incorrect balances;
- failed deposits;
- failed withdrawals;
- incorrect transfers;
- unauthorized activity;
- payment issues;
- account restrictions;
- merchant issues;
- technical problems.
Alta Bank may resolve disputes based on available records, logs, proof, transaction history, account activity, staff review, and applicable rules.
Alta Bank’s decision is final unless Alta Bank chooses to reopen the matter.
18. Customer Responsibilities
The account holder is responsible for:
- providing accurate information;
- protecting account access;
- reviewing transactions;
- reporting errors promptly;
- following Alta rules;
- following applicable server rules;
- maintaining sufficient balances;
- using correct payment information;
- avoiding scams;
- cooperating with reviews or investigations;
- paying applicable fees;
- complying with this Agreement.
Alta Bank is not responsible for problems caused by user error, false information, scams, shared credentials, external server rules, Discord issues, Minecraft issues, or third-party misconduct.
19. No Interest Unless Stated
Alta Bank accounts do not earn interest unless Alta Bank clearly states that a specific account product earns interest.
Any interest-style, yield-style, reward-style, or bonus-style feature is subject to the specific terms of that product.
20. No Real-World Insurance
Unless Alta Bank expressly states otherwise in writing, Alta Bank accounts are not insured by any real-world deposit insurance program.
Balances may represent virtual, fictional, roleplay, or in-game value only.
21. Service Availability
Alta Bank services may be unavailable, delayed, interrupted, changed, or discontinued at any time.
Alta Bank does not guarantee that accounts, transactions, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, bots, websites, APIs, or support systems will always be available or error-free.
Alta Bank may perform maintenance, emergency shutdowns, upgrades, or resets when necessary.
22. Privacy
Alta Bank may collect and use information as described in the Alta Group Privacy Policy and any applicable Alta Bank privacy notice.
Alta Bank may collect and maintain information related to accounts, balances, transactions, support requests, disputes, proof uploads, account actions, and security reviews.
23. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by applicable rules and law, Alta Bank, Alta Group, subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from use of Alta Bank services.
Alta Bank’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by the account holder to Alta Bank for the specific account service giving rise to the claim during the thirty days before the claim, unless a specific written agreement states otherwise.
24. Indemnification
The account holder agrees to defend and hold harmless Alta Bank, Alta Group, subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:
- misuse of the account;
- violation of this Agreement;
- violation of Alta Group rules;
- user-submitted false information;
- fraud, abuse, or misconduct;
- unauthorized account sharing;
- violation of third-party rights;
- violation of server rules, platform rules, or applicable law.
25. Changes to This Agreement
Alta Bank may update this Agreement at any time.
Updated versions become effective when posted, published, or otherwise made available.
Material changes may require recorded affirmative acceptance before new Bank activity. If affirmative acceptance is not required, continued use after the stated effective date means the account holder accepts the updated Agreement. A customer who declines an update may still be allowed to review records, resolve an existing obligation, transfer eligible remaining virtual value, close the account, or contact support.
26. Relationship to Other Agreements
This Agreement applies to personal deposit accounts.
Other Alta Bank products may have separate agreements, including:
- Business Banking Agreement;
- Alta Pay Terms;
- Merchant Services Agreement;
- Lending Agreement;
- Cardholder Agreement;
- Fee Schedule;
- Transfers and Error Resolution Terms;
- product-specific disclosures.
If there is a conflict between this Agreement and a more specific product agreement, the more specific agreement controls for that product unless Alta Bank states otherwise.
27. Contact
Questions, disputes, or support requests should be submitted through official Alta Bank support channels.
28. Approval
This Deposit Account Agreement is adopted by Alta Bank as the governing agreement for personal deposit accounts.
